Assistance Program on Counter Trafficking (APCT).

MUKTI Cox's Bazar has implemented Assistance Program on Counter Trafficking (APCT) project from July 2011 to June 2012 with the financial and technical assistance of International Organization for Migration (IOM) in six upazilas of Cox's Bazar district.

Goal:

To reduce gender based violence and trafficking in the project area.

Objectives:

  • To reach community members in the three selected districts of Bangladesh, i.e. Chittagong, Cox's Bazaar and Bandarban, by implementing community awareness and outreach campaign
  • To provide direct assistance to victims of abuse and violence with a comprehensive package of services including health, psychosocial and legal services through the establishment of "Help Centers."

Activities:

  • Help Center establish for trafficked/ abused women and children.
  • Provide shelter support to trafficked/ abused women and children.
  • Provide food assistance to trafficked/ abused women and children.
  • Provide treatment assistance to trafficked/ abused women and children.
  • Provide psycho social counseling support to trafficked/ abused women and children.
  • Provide legal assistance to trafficked/ abused women and children.
  • Provide training to people’s representatives, service providers, Religious leader, law enforcing agencies and elites to involve them in the project activities.
  • Community awareness rising to protect trafficked and violence against women and children.

Child Access to Rights through Development (CARD) Project

Mukti Cox's Bazar had implemented Child Access to Rights through Development (CARD) Program from August 2003 to December 2009 in Cox's Bazar Poursova with the technical and financial assistance of Save the Children Australia (SCA).The goal of the program is to create a child friendly society in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar districts where children are protected developed valued and treated as active and responsible citizen according to the provisions of UNCRC. The Vulnerable Children, Parents and other key stakeholder is the targeted beneficiaries of the program.

The highlights of the programs are as follows:

Formation of Child councils at local level and district level and adolescents citizen forum.

Linkage development through hearing sessions, meetings and workshops with the duty bearers.

Child journalism and publication of newsletters by the child journalists.

Raising awareness on child rights issues through Children’s Drama group.

Empowerment of children and adolescents to protect themselves from abuse and exploitation and to address daily life challenges through enhancing their life skills by adolescents.

Improvement of adolescents’ nutrition status by developing adolescents as life skills champions.

Early Childhood Development.

Eradication of Hazardous Child Labor in Bangladesh (EHCLB) Project

Mukti Cox's Bazar has started a program named "Eradication of Hazardous Child Labor in Bangladesh (EHCLB) Project" with the financial assistance of Government of Bangladesh from July, 2012 in Chittagong city corporation area.

Objectives:

  • To provide non formal primary education to the hazardous child labor.
  • To provide vocational training to the hazardous child labor.

Achievement

  • 14 full time learning centres has been established.
  • 420 children are studying non formal education.
  • 420 parents are aware on hazardous child labour and it's impact.
  • 420 children have received learning assistance i.e. Books, pencils etc.
  • 420 students received life skills training.
  • 420 children are receiving vocational training in different trades.

Goal:

To improve the realization of child rights in Bangladesh by promoting greater participation of children in monitoring and reporting processes of child rights violations.

Objectives:

  • Develop a "child-led" child rights monitoring and reporting mechanism in accordance to concluding observations.
  • Strengthen the evolving capacity of children in child-led monitoring and reporting mechanism based on concluding observations to develop a group of child researchers.
  • Strengthen the capacity of duty bearers on child participation and support the child-led monitoring and reporting process.
  • Enable child researchers to be instrumental in rising voices on issues that effect children through the child parliamentarians.

Women Support Center Project

MUKTI Cox's Bazar had implemented a program name "Women Support Center" from October 2008 to September 2012 with the assistance of Ministry of Women & Child Affairs (MOWCA) and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Goal:

To redress and prevent violence against women and girls in Cox's Bazar district

Objective:

To promote and protect distressed, shelter less and helpless victims of violence; women and girl's human rights of Cox's Bazar district through providing legal aid, shelter, treatment, and psychosocial counseling and social support services.

Target group:

Victims of violence; women and girl's of Cox's Bazar district has been targeted for the project.
